Sommet lets you rate things, build rankings and compare them with friends. This page says what we keep, why, who helps us run the service, and what you can ask us to do with your data. Questions: hello@sommetapp.com.
What we keep
- Your ratings, the rankings you make and share, and what you add, back, report or propose.
- The first name you give when you challenge someone or share a ranking. It is shown to the people you share with.
- If you sign in: your email address, and your Google account ID if you use Google. We don't get your Google password.
- Usage events, such as which pages and sections are used and searches that found nothing, to improve the product.
Why
To run the service you asked for (your rankings, comparisons and sign-in), and to improve it from how it is used. We don't sell your data and don't show ads.
Who sees what
- Rankings show averages for everyone; nobody else sees your individual ratings.
- People you accept a challenge with see the ratings you both gave in the categories you compare.
- A ranking you share can be seen by anyone with its link.
Services that help us
- Supabase: database and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosting the website.
- Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Resend: sending sign-in emails.
Cookies and storage
We use only what the service needs: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in (guests included), a cookie that remembers the city you picked, and a random ID in your browser so usage is counted per person. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how it is used, by writing to hello@sommetapp.com. We reply within a month. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
How long
We keep your data while your account is active, and delete it when you ask us to.
